Merry... Happy... Umm... Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Solstice, Three Kings Day, Rohatsu, Ramadan and so on :)

Hello Bohemians!

Hopefully I caught which ever holiday it is that you do celebrate :) If not, no lashings with wet noodles >.>

If you missed it, the shows tonight were fantastic! Pre-Christmas shows and NOTHING till the 29th :) Just before the New Year.

Geos Copperfield
Geos was really in the spirit tonight, and dressed the part rather well :)

So did Lazarus Doghouse but *face palm* I missed the opportunity to get a good picture of him.

Tayla Lorakeet
We also had a wonderful bird avatar join us near the end of Geos' set tonight. Tayla Lorakeet is the owner of the Palm Springs Music Venue in SL. I always love the "dress up" aspect of SL and this is a fantastic one :)

We had a fantastic crowd tonight, sad if you missed it. Geos was followed by Zen Revnik (AKA John Roudolph) Both have a sound that compliment one another so it was a wonderful night of music.

I like traffic lights.. I like traffic lights...

Frank Zappa, one time resident of the RL Chelsea Hotel may have done that song as a foreshadowing of the Virtual Hotel Chelsea sim... It was asked if the street lights change at all... I can bear witness to the fact that no, no they don't. Out of curiosity, I stood out in the empty street for about half an hour tonight and not a single one of the lights changed. All of them are red as well. So, if you want to drive around, avoid any cops. You'll be running red lights all the time :)

Live shows at Hotel Chelsea .. Yes, they happen!

Every week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, enola does her best to book some of the best Live Performers in SL to grace the Hotel Chelsea stage. This Saturday was no different (and I always wonder why the 300+ Bohemians can never make it over).
Lyndon Heart (and his hat!! <3)

We had Lyndon Heart on our stage for the first time. Lyndon has been performing in Second Life for a while now, and has a pretty good show. Despite some technical issues, the show went on. And his hat rocks LOL

You can find out more about Lyndon on his website.

David Csiszer

David joined us again this week (this is what happens when weeks blend and booking blend every month LOL) but we always enjoy his shows :) I still don't think he can over play any song, and he's one of the masters with the looper when he gets going!

He's also a linguistics teacher! Now we know how to ask where the monkey is :) Always useful! Providing of course, we lose a monkey in Mexico o.0

It was a fairly tame night at the Chelsea :) Only interesting avatar of the night was me o.o LOL

And don't call me CUTE!! >.<

That's all for this edition of your Chelsea blog. Remember, it is for you, Bohemians. The blog, the shows, all of it :)

Oh! If you have any ideas for the blog, please feel free to send me e-mail. Also, I'd like to do a series of interviews with Chelsea artists, so be warned! Questions coming!!!

New music, Old favorites and o.o who knew...

Tonight was quite a night on the Chelsea stage. Well, it always is, actually, and if you miss a performance on the Chelsea stage… Ummm… What is wrong with you!!! /o\

EmJay Fretwerk
EmJay Fretwerk made her first of what we hope will be many appearances on the Chelsea stage. Her voice is real, gritty and pure. Her originals are amazing (she may deny it but she DOES have a Murder Ballad!!!) and full of emotion you will recognize. EmJay’s voice is perfect for the John Prine covers she picks. A great addition to the Chelsea line-up and we look forward to her next performance.

lol Only in SL <3 Monkey w/a bong

And of course, fans are always fantastic too :D For example, we have Spacemonkey420 Northman, who was indulging along with a few others while listening to EmJay LOL Love the monkey avatar, well done, and the Fedora is par excellence.

Zen Revnik. Find out more about the man and his music at
http://johnrandolph.com/

It’s a real treat to hear Zen Revnik again. He’s a fantastic performer who doesn’t play often enough in SL. His song “Coffee and Wine” is quite apt for our Bohemians and hearing him live is wonderful..
In other news, enola’s new computer fund is at 41%! When SL phases out the non mesh viewers, enola’s current system will not be able to handle the graphics. Mykal started the fund about 2 months ago, and your support has been fantastic :) Thank you!

Christmas is on track. A few decorations were added recently and more will be up later on. We may even include dirty snow LOL it is New York after all :D

What is your idea of the "perfect Christmas"? Favorite Christmas Movie? Song? Picture? A lot of questions, I know, but I love to hear the answers :)

New writer, great shows and o.o @ The Hotel Chelsea

Hello! First I’m going to introduce myself some little. In Second Life, I’m Perkey Felwitch. You can usually find me at a live music show, or exploring a beautiful sim and taking pictures or building a set for pictures I see in my human head and want to try out in SL. You can also find me at the Hotel Chelsea on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings when I’m helping enola and Donna host the shows there :)

Enola asked for help with the blog and I figured I’d give it a try :) So here goes!

This Tuesday, November 22nd we hosted Geos Copperfield and Obeloinkment Wrigglesworth on the Chelsea stage.

Geos Copperfield
Now, Geos is a fantastic performer from California. What I didn’t know, is that he has a hidden talent o.o It’s true! He’s skilled Air Guitarist!! o.o Really, he was able to play his  whole set on Air Guitar! It was AMAZING!

Verion Helix
Also amazing was one of our guests tonight. In SL, we see some fantastic creativity, and this is a brilliant example of such :) With that, I present to you Verion Helix!

When Obe joined us, I was a little confused o.o Well, it’s Obe and he changes avatars more often then socks I think :) Always interesting, and his current look is no exception. Though, it’s a little odd to see Richard Nixon rocking out on the Chelsea stage o.O Or maybe not so much?

What's a bit more on the odd side, is how he "winds down" after a show o.o

Obeloinkment Wrigglesworth
Obe after dark o.o

These are the last shows for a full week. We’re taking a break with Gobble day coming up :) Check events or the marquee in the venue for our upcoming shows!

Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for reading! Till next time, be good to you & HUGS!

HOTEL CHELSEA HALLOWEEN PARTY

Ok so I know its been ages since I updated the blog. Wow not since our anniversary. Shame on me. I will try to do better.
The Halloween party was, of course, a wonderful blast! We had 30 people there at the top and a steady 25 members dancing and showing off their costumes. Thank you to all the Bohemians who came to the party! You are what makes us great, without you all we would just be an empty albeit cool place.
Our winners were Van, Donna, And Richie. The DJ was Mick Oxygen, he did a fantastic job with a tribute to scary movies.
This is a photo of the winners and the DJ. To see more photos and hear more about the party please visit our FB page at http://www.facebook.com/groups/193485884011401/

Thanks again Bohemians!

VIRTUAL HOTEL CHELSEA TURNS 2

Tuesday May 3rd the Virtual Hotel Chelsea will be 2 years old. We have grown a lot and changed some in the last two years. One thing that has not changed is that we are a place dedicated to the arts. We have more galleries than ever now and Live music 3 nights a week. It has been a wonderful two years and we have the Bohemians to thank for that.
Join us starting at 3pm pst/slt as we celebrate our second anniversary. We will begin with an hour of readings of works by authors that lived in the real Hotel, at 4pm the live music will begin featuring Strum Diesel, Mykal Skall, Nonge Shipman, Max Kleene and Matthew Perreault. With readings in between by Rosedrop Rust.
It will be a wonderful evening of celebration. Hope you can be present.

Sunday, March 20, 2011

Friday night we had a rez day party for Djeaux Farrasco, one of our long time regulars here at the Hotel. It was a hippy theme with everyone in tie dye. Von Johin played live for the first hour, followed by some really great old rock and roll tunes spun by DJ Mick Oxygen. We had a really great time celebrating Djeauxs 1st year in SL. Thanks to his girl friend Gloria for the party. AND HAPPY 1st REZ DAY DJEAUX!

MYKAL COMES OUT TO PLAY!

Our beloved owner Mykal Skall decided to do a sound check tonight at the chelsea sound studio. He attracted a few listeners and what began as a sound check ended up as a mini concert. It was so wonderful to hear Mykal sing and play again. We are hoping that he will do this more often and that RL will allow him to. For all you old fans of Mykal, keep in touch... I will let you know when he will be singing. And thanks to all of you who turned out to hear and encourage him tonight.

MARDI GRAS AT THE HOTEL A BLAST!

So we had our Mardi Gras party here at the Virtual Hotel Chelsea. OH MAN! It was a blast and a half. DJ Mick Oxygen played NO Style Jazz/funk and everyone had the most amazing costumes. I tried to get pics of all the costumes but you know how lag is! Makes it difficult. You can see more pics tho on our face book page.
After two hours of Mardi Gras music no one was ready to stop, so DJ Mick played another hour for an after party, spinning us with some hot hot tunes to end our night just right. Thank you DJ Mick! for a wonderful job. And Thank you to all the fabulous Bohemians who came out to celebrate with us!

STANLEY BARD CONSIDERS BUYING HOTEL CHELSEA

Check out this link, its short but to the point. Stanley Bard may buy out the other shareholders of the Hotel Chelsea. Saying he isn't happy with the way it's being managed. WOO HOO The Bards may be coming back!
This is important news for those of us who love the Hotel Chelsea. And a fine day it would be too. The mecca for the arts would be back in business. (Much like the virtual one is heheh)
So check it out Bohemians.

ANTI VALENTINES BALL A BLAST!

We had our little anti valentines ball tonight at the virtual Hotel. It was met with a bit of controversy as some claimed we were against love. But this is not the case, we were making a statement that valentines day is a commercial creation, and not about love at all. Therefore it was anti valentines day- not anti love day. But for all those who did attend we had a great time. And our winner of the contest, for best anti valentines day costume, was Donna Pixelmaid.
DJ Deere was there to spin great anti romance tunes for us. And we all danced and danced, till we dropped. Good times at the virtual Hotel!

Today Derek stopped by and showed us what jesus might look like in the 21st century. We love it when people come by and share the strange and wonderful with us. Thank you to Derek for this cool pic.

OUR LOVELY MISS PERKEY TURNS 3!

Little miss Perkey Felwitch turned 3 on January 10th 2011. We celebrated this auspicious occasion by having a swim suit party in the snow on the roof of the Hotel Chelsea. Many bohemians came out in swimsuits along with mittens and scarves to stave off the cold! We had a great time with Obeloinkment serenading Perkey - and all of us bohemians - with his wonderful music. HAPPY REZ DAY PERKEY!!! It was a great day for all of us. If you are having a rez day and are a bohemian do let me know! We love any excuse for a party here at the Hotel.
Photo of Perkey with her swimsuit, mittens and scarf.

CHRISTMAS AT THE HOTEL ROCKED!

We had our Gala Fancy Dress Christmas party here at the Virtual Hotel. All the usual suspects were in attendance. Bohemians donned their finest frocks and came out to rock with us as we celebrated Christmas the Bohemian way. Cinnamon Zeminis was our DJ and she did a fantastic job. It sort of doubled as a new years party, since we didnt have an official new years party here at the Hotel, so HAPPY 2011 Bohemians!
